This Smyrna family loved their location but couldn’t find the "perfect" new home — so they chose to completely reinvent the one they had. GOODESIGN undertook a full renovation of their three-story residence, transforming both its layout and livability.
MAIN LEVEL
The main floor was completely reimagined to enhance functionality and flow. The formerly two-story family room was enclosed to create a new upper level, while the living areas received all-new flooring, upgraded lighting, and fresh paint throughout. The kitchen footprint was expanded to feature double islands, dual refrigerators, and a 45-inch professional stove, making it the ultimate entertainer’s kitchen. Every bathroom on this level was refreshed with new vanities, fixtures, and lighting, giving the entire space a cohesive modern feel.
UPPER LEVEL
The newly added upper level above the former family room houses a full ensuite bath, a relocated laundry room, and a luxurious women’s closet that conceals a prayer room. The primary suite was also expanded to include a custom wet room with double rain showerheads, body jets, and body sprays, creating a spa-level retreat within the home.
LOWER LEVEL
The basement was transformed into an entertainer’s dream with the addition of a hidden speakeasy, tucked discreetly behind slatted wood walls. The space maintains a sophisticated ambiance while offering a unique feature that blends seamlessly into the overall design aesthetic.
WHOLE-HOME ENHANCEMENTS
Across all three stories, no detail was left unnoticed. Every floor received new flooring, updated door hardware, fresh paint in every room and closet, new bathroom vanities and lighting, and recessed lighting throughout for a consistent, elevated glow.
